Technology Risk & Controls Specialist Public CloudLocation: New York / DallasDuration: 6+ monthsPay Rate: OpenJob Overview:We are seeking a seasoned Technology Risk & Controls Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is critical in managing and mitigating risks associated with our Public Cloud operations. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in identifying risks, assessing them, and driving compliance with both internal policies and external regulations. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our cloud security landscape and ensuring the robustness of our controls.Responsibilities:

• Risk Management: Identify and assess residual risks, coordinating Corrective Action Plans (CAP) with our information security and engineering teams.
• Policy Negotiation and Advocacy: Negotiate with Internal Audit, Operational Risk Management, and Policy Owners to influence cloud-friendly policy changes. Engage with regulators in Asia and EMEA to advocate for Public Cloud practices.
• Policy Application and Research: Advise engineers across multiple technology domains including compute, container, database, and middleware on policy application. Collaborate with Independent Compliance Risk Management to research policy origins in regulations.
• Process Design and Maintenance: Design processes for building and maintaining services in Public Cloud with control in mind. Continually assess the efficacy of Management Controls Assessment (MCA) for Public Cloud.
• Monitoring and Data Analysis: Monitor policy exceptions, identify common root causes, and leverage data to examine impacts on Customer Experience and Regulatory compliance.
• Risk and Compliance Assurance: Drive compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy and applying sound ethical judgment. Escalate, manage, and report control issues with transparency.
• Best Practices Influence: Influence application teams on best practices for MCA and process improvement initiatives.Basic Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience in Technology Risk & Controls within a large, heavily regulated organization.
  • 3+ years of experience in Public Cloud Technology platforms like AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Snowflake, MongoDB Atlas, and Azure.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel; knowledge of MS Access and SQL is a plus.
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely explain concepts to stakeholders, including non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategies, influence change, and implement process improvements.Preferred Skills:

    • Demonstrated ability to influence teams and drive common-sense approaches to modern risk complexities.
    • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills with a demonstrable interest in Public Cloud risk identification and mitigation.
