Job Description:
Purpose of Job As the Quantitative Risk Analyst Lead (Life and
Annuity Actuary) you will be responsible for validating of
actuarial values and their underlying modeling systems and
processes for fixed, indexed, variable, registered-indexed,
in-plan, and immediate annuities. You'll monitor emerging
regulations and accounting rules from governing bodies, influence
their final form through regulators and industry groups, and apply
thought leadership on application of new rules as they occur.

Applies expert analytical knowledge to utilize advanced analytics

Demonstrates thought leadership in cross functional team

Drives and creates cross functional teams in support of initiatives
that have significant impact to the enterprise or a core business
area.
Provides direction and mentorship to other team members in the peer
review process.
Expertly communicates analytical results, findings and solutions to
governance committees and business process owners and influences
business analysis.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics,
Actuarial Sciences, or other quantitative discipline. 4 additional
years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be
substituted in lieu of a degree.
8 years related quantitative analysis experience in a discipline
relevant to risk management to include statistical analysis,
modeling, mathematics or other quantitative discipline. OR advanced
degree/designation in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics,
Actuarial Sciences, or other quantitative discipline and 4 years
work experience in a quantitative discipline relevant to risk
management. OR PhD in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics,
or other quantitative discipline and up to 2 years work experience
in a quantitative discipline relevant to risk management
Preferred Experience:
Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) Designation
Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA) Designation
Experience in actuarial and stochastic modeling, machine learning,
or other advanced mathematical techniques
Risk management experience in a complex institution and or highly
matrixed environment related to life insurance or financial
services
Experience managing complex processes to include process
engineering or project management experience
Industry-related analytical experience in for life insurance
pricing, reserving, asset and liability management (ALM), financial
modeling, capital calculations, and hedging
Experience with Moody's Analytics AXIS Actuarial Modeling System
and Moody's Analytics Risk Integrity--- Insight
Proficient analytical skills with an aptitude for quantitative and
scenario analysis

Compensation:
USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and
establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid
within the salary range based on your experience and market
position. The salary range for this position is: $117,600.00 -
$211,700.00 *(this does not include geographic differential it may
be applied based on your work location)
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall
corporate and individual performance or at the discretion of the
USAA Board of Directors.
