The BNSF Railway Finance/Accounting Department provides innovative strategic solutions and world-class financial services to support BNSF's overall performance. Within the Finance Department, several specialized departments contribute to its overall mission: Controller, Revenue Management, Strategic Sourcing, Tax, Treasury, and Strategic Studies. Each department is vital in managing BNSF's financial health and strategic financial planning. These departments work collaboratively to secure BNSF's economic stability and support its growth and innovation within the railway industry.This is a full-timepositionlocated in Fort Worth, TX. Our leaders also foster a culture where work life balance, which requires flexibility for when life happens, is important and respected.Travel is minimal to noneKey responsibilities may include:Overseeing SOX compliance for BNSF's Finance organization, including verifying controls have been completed by the related business partners timely and accuratelyManage documentation of identified deficiencies and remediation efforts and communicating with Corporate Audit Services (CAS) to track statusHelp manage the process of preparing quarterly and annual financial packages and other deliverables requested from BNSF's parent company Assist in the preparation of various footnotes and other disclosures for quarterly and annual filings with the SEC and other regulatory agencies Help manage various audits and reviews performed by independent auditorsAssist in the preparation and review of various ad hoc financial reporting requests and other special projectsDaily work is conducted in an indoor office environment.Relocation assistance may be available based on business needThe duties and responsibilities in this posting are representative categories to be used in deciding whether to apply for this position.This is notan exhaustive list of the position's duties.At BNSF Railway, we encourage individuals from all backgrounds to apply, showcasing their skills, experiences and development. • Able to work in the US without company sponsorship now AND in the future.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in finance-related field, as applicable
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• History of reviewing and/or preparing SOX controls and SOX-related documentation
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities
• Strong project management skillsPreferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Public accounting experience
  • Masters' degree in accounting or business administration
