Public Trust Advisors is a growing investment advisory firm seeking to add a Director, Investment Services in our Texas market. Established in 2011 and headquartered in Denver CO, Public Trust Advisors is a SEC registered firm that manages nearly $100 billion in public sector assets around the nation. With 85 employees and growing, Public Trust Advisors is large enough to allow our employees to chart their professional path and still small enough to connect with all levels of the organization on their journey.
We have been the administrator and advisor for Texas CLASS, a local government investment pool serving governmental entities across the state since 2013. We are looking for ambitious and driven financial and investment sales professionals to join our team in the rewarding field of investment advisory and marketing-related services to municipalities, counties, and special districts in Texas. - This fully remote position will join our Texas sales team and requires an individual who resides in or near the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Ideal candidates will possess a strong work ethic and drive combined with 5+ years of relevant experience in business development as well as possessing financial industry experience. Salesforce or similar CRM tool is a plus. This is a direct client facing role requiring the ability to present knowledgably to Councils and Boards about Texas CLASS. To be the right fit, you must be comfortable developing and expanding business through educating clients on current market events and investment opportunities. Strong presentation skills are a must.

Job Summary:
The Director, Investment Services is responsible for the full sales cycle from identifying leads, contacting prospective clients, and learning their needs and objectives to providing solutions, contract negotiations through developing and maintaining relationships with institutional investors and understand the key elements required for growing and maintaining key client relationships. Travel to clients and prospects throughout the region with face to face presentations is required for this role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Contribute to firm's growth by developing and maintaining client relationships, identifying potential new business, and effectively communicating product offerings.
  • Develop and expand business while maintaining existing relationships with current investment management clients
  • Collaborate with senior team members in all aspects of sales and marketing, client management, and ensure follow up with clients and internal staff.
  • Provide full service to clients in the areas of public funds investment, client education, client presentations, reporting, and regular client meetings.
  • Identify and participate in relevant local industry conferences and associations.
  • Present to governing bodies and investment committees as necessary.
  • Evaluate and advise on client investment policies.
  • Create innovative ways of educating clients and prospects on current market events and investment opportunities.
  • Coordinate information and document flow between staff, clients, and other stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Create and maintain call reports, prospect lists, opportunities, and other relevant information in Client Relationship Management (CRM) System
  • Other duties as assigned as pertain to the position.

    Competencies Required:

    • A minimum of 5 years of progressive sales, marketing, business development, relationship management or other highly related experience in the public sector.
    • It is preferred that candidates have knowledge of investible capital markets but especially fixed income funds, short and intermediate-term fixed income investments, and money market instruments.
    • Self-motivated with a proven successful business development/corporate development track record.
    • Ability to think and act strategically; to look at issues affecting the team from a larger, long-term perspective rather than just day-to-day task execution.
    • Demonstrates a disciplined process for pursuing and winning long sales cycle investment management mandates.
    • Demonstrates flexibility when approaching complex situations and often uses creative methods/solutions to avoid conflicts and/or negative outcomes.
    • Possesses a high degree of investment acumen, institutional client-facing and presentation skills.
    • Outstanding project management skills with proven ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment.
    • Demonstrates unwavering integrity and instills confidence in others.
    • Desire to improve processes, take initiative, and solve problems.
    • Strong quantitative, problem solving, and analytical skills.
    • Detail oriented with strong organization skills.
    • Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications and related technologies.

      Education/Experience Required:

      • Experience in servicing local governments in Texas is strongly preferred.
      • Bachelor's degree required.
