***There are multiple positions available and they all require relocation to Portland, Oregon.Hiring Bonus and Relocation Package Available!**Department Overview*OHSU is where healing, teaching and discovery come together. Magnet-designated OHSU is Oregon's only academic health center, and the OHSU Brain Institute is the*first*Joint Commission-designated Comprehensive Stroke Center in the Pacific Northwest.The nurses of the Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit (NSICU) provide patient and family centered care to the patient populations of neurosurgery, neuro-medical and stroke including: subarachnoid hemorrhage, cerebrovascular aneurysms, microvascular decompression, cerebrovascular thrombosis, intraparenchymal hemorrhage, subdural hematoma, tumor resection, myasthenic crisis, aneurysm clipping, coiling, and stents.*Function/Duties of Position*Join us! Our 17-bed ICU has immediate access to 24-hour CT and MRI services, OR and interventional radiology suites to enable rapid access to care. Our typical cases include complex neurosurgery, ischemic stroke, intracranial hemorrhage, neuromuscular disorders and epilepsy (among others). Night differentials, free parking, and the opportunity to be a part of the expansive specialty that is Neuroscience!The OHSU Clinical registered nurse (RN) provides compassionate, evidence-based, and efficient care to individuals, families, communities and patient populations. The Clinical RNs care delivery is consistent with the Oregon Nurse Practice Act, the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, and the ANA Code of Ethics. The Clinical RN demonstrates the professional role obligations of scientist, leader, practitioner, and knowledge transferor [Onsomble Model of the Professional Role]. Professional accountability enriches the Clinical RNs engagement as a leader in promoting an inter-professional culture of collaborative decision-making, innovation, life-long learning, and teamwork. The Clinical Nurse exemplifies the principles of a Culture of Safety by committing to a Just Culture, a Reporting Culture, Learning Culture, and an Engaged Informed Culture.Required Qualifications* 1-year of current Critical Care experience* External applicants: Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing Degree from a program accredited by Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA)* Internal applicants: Associate's Degree in Nursing, BSN preferred* Current, unencumbered Oregon State Registered Nurse License* Unencumbered criminal background check* Both BLS/ACLS must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network branch of AHA (upload documentation with online application)* Both BLS/ACLS must not expire during orientation or probation period, and must have the same expiration date (upload documentation with online application)* Must have excellent communication and reflection skills, the ability to work collaboratively in a team, and the flexibility to delegate, prioritize, and adapt in stressful situations* Minimum score of 15/20 on OHSU Adult Critical Care Cluster Interview Evaluation Tool* Able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation* Ability to lift, bend, stoop, reach, carry, push, pull and walk throughout the work period. Able to lift 35 lbs. independently. Complies with the safe patient mobilization policy when lifting or positioning dependent patients, including using mechanical lifts and coordinating the assistance of other personnel* Must be able to use all senses: seeing, hearing, touching, smelling, and speaking.
