Job Description:
Methodist Health System is seeking a dedicated Gastrointestinal
Technician II to join our team of healthcare professionals in
providing exceptional medical care with compassion and high-quality
standards across our network of Texas hospitals and clinics. The
Gastrointestinal Technician II will be instrumental in assisting
gastroenterologists and other healthcare professionals in
diagnosing and treating disorders of the gastrointestinal (GI)
tract. This role requires a combination of technical skills,
patient interaction, and operational understanding of GI procedures
and equipment. Assist during endoscopic procedures by setting up
and ensuring the sterility and functionality of equipment. Provide
direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of
healthcare professionals. Prepare patients for procedures by
explaining the process and addressing concerns. Monitor and record
patient condition and response during and after procedures. Manage
the proper cleaning, disinfection, and storage of GI equipment.
Adhere to infection control and health safety measures. Collaborate
effectively with the GI team to ensure a seamless procedural
workflow. Skilled in the operation and maintenance of
gastrointestinal equipment Capable of multi-tasking and maintaining
detail-oriented workflow Excellent interpersonal and communication
skills Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency
situations Basic understanding of medical terminology related to
the gastrointestinal system Medical Insurance Dental Insurance
Vision Insurance Certified Gastroenterology Registered Nurse (CGRN)
preferred BLS certification required
