Job Description:
Description Summary: The Interventional Radiology (IR)
Technologist is responsible for helping perform a variety of
complex specialized tasks operating fluoroscopy, computed
tomography, laser, and ultrasonography equipment during vascular
and neuroradiology angiographic and interventional procedures. This
individual is responsible for helping develop and implement systems
to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of patients for procedures
in the Interventional labs. Duties for this position include but
are not limited to: circulating and scrubbing roles during
procedures, patient teaching, assisting with patient care within
the scope of practice, inventory management, and schedule
coordination. Behavior and communication skills must align with the

deemed appropriate by State and Federal agencies, the hospital, and
other regulatory entities. Performs examinations/procedures as
needed to assist in patient throughput within the scope of the
Manager’s license(s), certification(s), and/or documented
competencies. Demonstrates flexibility by working other shifts and
at other campuses as needed or required. Ensures completed exams
are scanned and stored correctly in PACS. Ability to follow PACS
downtime procedures as a PACS Superuser and escalate any problem(s)
or issue(s) to the PACS administrator or Designee if needed.
Troubleshoots and reports any equipment malfunctions to the
Director/Manager and/or Biomedical personnel; does appropriate
follow-up. Performs other duties as assigned. Ensures compliance
with all policies, procedures, and standards as outlined by State
and Federal agencies, the hospital, and other regulatory entities.

Education/Skills Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology
Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent required
Experience 1 year of training/experience in special procedures/IR
required Basic computer experience required Licenses,
Registrations, or Certifications Vascular Interventional
Radiography (VI) by ARRT is required Current state Licensure
required Texas: MRT by TMB Louisiana: LRT (R) or (F) by LSRTBE New
Mexico: RRT by MIRTP NMED BLS required Advanced Cardiac Life
Support (ACLS) preferred Work Schedule: PRN Work Type: Per Diem As
Needed
