Job Description:
Purpose of this Job:
This job is responsible for supporting the Human Resources function
including Employee Relations, Benefits, Compliance, Recruiting and
Training. Acts as a liaison between employee and management to
answer questions or concerns regarding company policies, practices,
and regulations. This role also supports payroll processing
activities as a backup for the Payroll Analyst.
Principle Duties/Essential Functions:
--- This person is responsible for supporting the Human Resources
function including Employee Relations, Benefits, Compliance, Hourly
Recruiting and Training.
--- Gather all payroll-related information, for one set of payrolls
per month, necessary to process accurate payroll.
Other Tasks/Responsibilities:
--- Assist GM, HR with HR issues including employee investigations,
employee interviews, benefit questions, compliance issues,
candidate sourcing and interviews and coordinating training
activities
--- Assist in coordinating brokers, vendors and other third parties
to manage administration of welfare and retirement plans
--- Assist in annual retirement plan testing and audits [401k &
Pension]
--- Coordinate employee engagement and employee recognition
activities
--- Source, interview, and screen candidates for Hourly and salary
positions
--- Develop and implement onboarding activities for new
employees
--- Responsible for benefit enrollment, resolving claim issues,
ensuring benefit compliance, ensuring the accuracy of billing and
other benefit documents
--- Assist with various projects related to 401k reporting, labor
hours reporting, monthly accruals and labor cost transfers
--- Assist in the negotiation and management approval process for
annual benefit renewal
--- Review premium billing statements for accuracy
--- Assist in reviewing and approving plan documents, including
contracts & summary Plan Descriptions
--- Complete all employment verifications as requested by
management and/or outside agencies
--- Assist payroll as needed, such as, prepare off-cycle (manual)
checks as needed for bonuses, reimbursements, employee advances,
corrections and/or replacement of lost checks
--- Responsible for awareness and compliance with company
Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) policies, procedures, and
regulatory requirements. Contributing to the effectiveness of the
EHS policies and procedures by communicating and reporting unsafe
conditions and/or non-compliances.
Requirements
Education:
--- Bachelor's Degree in business, HR, or related field
--- 2 + years of experience in a manufacturing environment
preferred
--- 5 years' experience in benefit plan administration
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
--- Must always be able to maintain highest level of
confidentiality
--- Must have strong computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft
Word, Excel and PowerPoint
--- Working knowledge of retirement plans [401k & pension]
--- Working knowledge of Paylocity or HR software equivalent
--- Excellent communication skills with all levels of management
and external auditors
Licenses or Certifications:
--- Society of Human Resources Management certification
preferred
Physical Demands:
--- Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet
deadlines
--- High level of concentration required with ability to perform
several tasks with frequent interruptions
--- Position requires lengthy period sitting, typing, and looking
at computer monitor
--- Must be able to deal with a variety of people in a service
atmosphere
--- Must be able to work on many projects at one time and
prioritize workload
Work Environment/Hours:
--- Primary work area is in an office setting
--- Must work normal office hours plus provide support on evenings
and weekend (as needed)
