Job Description:
As a pivotal enforcement entity within the Department of
Homeland Security, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is
dedicated to the management of the United States' borders. The role
of a Customs and Border Protection Officer is critical in enhancing
national security, preventing terrorism, and facilitating lawful
international trade and travel. This position demands a keen eye
for detail, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a firm
commitment to upholding immigration and customs laws. Officers are
on the front lines at air, land, and sea ports nationwide, where
they conduct inspections, enforce regulations, and ensure smooth
border operations. Inspect cargo, baggage, and articles entering
and leaving the U.S. to enforce laws and regulations. Question
individuals to determine admissibility into the country. Prepare
reports and maintain records of daily activities and enforcement
actions. Utilize various technologies to safeguard and streamline
border processes. Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies
on security and enforcement initiatives. Strong analytical and
decision-making skills Ability to communicate effectively both
verbally and in writing Knowledge of law enforcement practices and
techniques Proficiency in using computer systems and related
technology Physical stamina and resilience under stressful
