American Airlines, a leading player in the aviation sector, is seeking a seasoned Category Manager/Sr Category Manager to join our dynamic Supply Chain and Procurement team based in Fort Worth, TX. This critical role involves strategizing and managing procurement activities specifically related to aviation parts and services, ensuring cost-effective and timely support to our extensive flight operations. As a Category Manager, you will lead project initiatives, manage supplier relationships, and oversee the procurement process from market analysis to contract execution, contributing to our mission of seamless connectivity across the globe. Develop and implement category strategies that align with company goals and operational needs. Manage supplier selection, negotiation, and contractual agreements. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure clear communication and procurement alignment with operational requirements. Monitor market trends and supplier performance to reduce costs and improve efficiency. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards. Lead cross-functional teams for project and initiative implementation. Strong negotiation skills Experience in supplier relationship management Proficient in data analysis and cost modeling Understanding of the aviation industry’s regulatory environment Excellent communication and project management skills Knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) preferred
