Job Description:
GENERAL DESCRIPTIONPerformance of complex early intervention
services which foster and monitor child progress in the acquisition
and mastery of functional skills to reduce or overcome limitations
resulting from disabilities or developmental delays to infants and
toddlers and their families, under the authority of the Individuals
with Disabilities Education Act as regulated by Health and Human
Services. Essential tasks include collaboration as a leader of
interdisciplinary teams, evaluation, assessment, eligibility
determination, treatment planning, documentation, therapeutic
intervention and consultation services in family homes and
community settings, records review, and maintenance, other ECI
related duties as required.Two central components are the provision
of developmental services that promote the capacity of caregivers
to enhance the child's ability to function in his/her natural
environments and or coordination of services to ensure families
integrated access to community services, resources and supports and
to support families understanding of rights and advocacy.EDUCATION,
TRAINING, & EXPERIENCEMinimum: Hold a bachelor's degree which
includes a minimum of 18 hours of course credit relevant to Early
Childhood Intervention including 3 hours of semester credit in
early childhood development or early childhood special
education.Must complete, or have completed, the credentialing
process to become a Fully Qualified Early Intervention Specialist
within one year of hire.Must complete required hours for continuing
professional education and ethics as discipline
applicable.ESSENTIAL TASKS & STANDARDSConducts intakes and
screenings for children referred for early intervention services in
a timely and professional manner.Performs developmental Evaluation
and assessments accurately in all areas, using formal and informal
testing methods, in order to establish eligibility and
developmental needs.Participates as a collaborative team member for
the Development of an Individualized Family Service Plan.Provision
of Specialized Skills Training as outlined in the IFSP.Provision of
Service Coordination as outlined in the IFSP, in accordance with
ECI policyProvision of direct services to families in accordance
with ECI of LifePath Systems productivity standards.Meets
timeframes in accordance with LifePath Systems ECI
Program.Functions as a contributing and effective team member of
the ECI team.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIESComprehensive knowledge
of typical and atypical child development and childhood
disabilities, birth to three.Comprehensive knowledge and
understanding of team and family dynamics.Ability to contribute
discipline specific skills as a disciplinary representative on an
interdisciplinary team which includes parents/caregivers, and other
professional staff.Ability to perform under minimal supervision
with considerable requirements for initiative, discretion,
independent thought, judgment, and self-motivation in matters of
significance to families as well as the agency.Well-developed
interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, time
management /organization skills, and basic computer skills.Ability
to comprehend and adhere to current ECI intervention
practices.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONSMust have valid
Texas Driver License and a good driving record.Must be able to pass
a criminal background check.Must be able to complete all LifePath
Systems training.Must be able to provide at least 3 professional or
